Tuesday, June 30

Tuesday, June 30…After spending the night with the Ladd’s and a lovely breakfast and trading more stories, we said our farewells and left around 9 a.m. We traveled up I-65 through the east side of Chicago to connect with I-196 N into Michigan and then to Hwy 31 to Silver Lake - a neat place among some great sand dunes where there is all kinds of off roading activities. After getting to our campground (Silver Creek Resort and RV Center) and getting hooked up, we went in search of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes State Park….the dune were amazing and b/c it was late in the day (around 7:00 p.m.) we just took a short walk out on the dunes with the dogs and watched some of the offroaders. Unfortunately, I did not realize that we would be going to do stuff so I left my camera in the RV and did not realize the little one was in the truck…in short, we have no pictures of the sand dunes…Then a short trip to grocery store and back to Rv for dinner.
Spent the evening looking up campgrounds in the Traverse City area and we are sorely afraid that they are full for the 4th of July holiday this weekend…so we made a long list of places to call first thing in the a.m. The problem with not being on a schedule is that you can run into stuff like this…..sigh…oh well, there is always Wal Mart parking lot….
